I will continue to light a Yizkor candle in his memory
Noah celebrated his Bar Mitzvah on
12 November 2022 at united Hebrew Congregation, Leeds
I was twinned with Nosen Lapka who sadly was murdered at Auschwitz in 1942. My Hebrew name is Nosen. I was named after my grandfather Nathan.
It was so important to me that I was able to twin my Bar Mitzvah with a young victim of the Holocaust who was unable to celebrate this Jewish milestone.
My great-grandmother, Dorka Samson was a survivor of Auschwitz. All of her family perished during the Holocaust, so this was something that was very close to my heart.
I will continue to light a Yizkor candle in his memory and will do so every year on Yom HaShoah to keep Nosen’s memory alive.
