I have twinned my Bat Mitzvah with a young victim of the Holocaust – Anita Hauser, a young girl from Austria who was tragically murdered aged 8. She shares the same surname as my great great great grandfather
I had my Bat Mitzvah 29 May 2021.
My great grandma Gabriella, who I am named after, escaped from Prague before the Nazi persecution of WWII. Tragically, many of her family members perished in the concentration camps.
As part of my Bat Mitzvah journey, I have been learning all about my family history as my great grandma kept excellent records and diaries. I have twinned my Bat Mitzvah with a victim of the Holocaust – Anita Hauser, a young girl from Austria who was tragically murdered aged 8 in 1942. She shares the same surname as my great great great grandfather and they were both born in Austria, so we may even be related. I will always be the Guardian of her Memory.
