‘The unthinkable has happened again’.
24 & 25 January 2024
At Yad Vashem UK we are now running our matched crowdfunding campaign.
Conscious of the tragic and challenging position we as a Jewish people find ourselves in, since the 7 October Hamas atrocities against Israel, the theme this year will be:
‘The unthinkable has happened again’.
It’s been over 100 days since the war began on 7 October when Hamas attacked Israel killing 1,200 citizens and kidnapping 240 innocent people, which has led to a huge surge in antisemitism across the capitals of the world, including London.
The number killed on the 7 October ‘Pogrom’ represents the largest number of Jews killed in one day since the Holocaust. As antisemitism surges exponentially, the UK government is standing together with its UK Jewish community to fight racism, propaganda, and hate speech.
Our response at Yad Vashem UK has been through active protest and meaningful education – dispelling the myths and hate propaganda of Hamas, the far left, and certain political powers.
Yad Vashem UK supports and promotes the valuable work of Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre, in countering antisemitism and Holocaust denial.
This has never been more vital in the light of what is happening now.
