Sculpting Lives: An evening with Frances Segelman and Harry Olmer MBE
13 January 2025 at JW3
We had the privilege of hosting Frances Segelman at JW3 for another amazing evening of live sculpting.
Frances was sculpting her 17th Holocaust survivor – Harry Olmer – and, once again, she produced an astonishing likeness in clay within just a couple of hours. This will now be refined at her workshop before being cast in bronze later this year.
Harry has an incredible tale to tell. He survived being sent to three different forced labour camps and then came to the UK following the war, where he learned English, completed his Higher exams and then qualified as a dentist.
He later married and had four children. They went on to have eight grandchildren, several of whom were at the event on Monday.
We would like to thank Frances, Harry and everyone who helped organise and attended the event.
Remember the past. Defend the future.
