Sculpting Lives: An evening with Frances Segelman and Dr Lydia Tischler
20 November 2025 at The Freud Museum
Last Thursday we hosted a truly special evening at The Freud Museum in Hampstead, London. ✨
Over sixty guests joined us at Freud’s former home, with more than 1,000 watching live online to witness, in Freud’s dining room, Frances Segelman created a sculpture of Lydia Tischler, Holocaust survivor and pioneering child psychotherapist who trained under Anna Freud in the 1950s.
Just a metre away, Professor Stephen Frosh gave a powerful talk on Sigmund Freud’s final years: his escape from Nazi persecution and his arrival in London, in the very home that now houses the Museum.
The event was the first live partnership between Yad Vashem UK Foundation and the museum and was hosted by Emilia Raczkowska, their Director of Education.
Thank you to everyone involved and who joined in person and online.
